Adopt A Soldier project

At our Relief Society birthday party, we gathered items for an adopt-a-soldier project we've undertaken. This is the picture I took of the stuff we had before the event started:
And unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the after, but this table and three others were overflowing. My heart was touched at the sweet sisters and their willingness to serve those around them and those who need them. Want more information about how you can help? Leave me a comment with your contact info and I'll let you know!

  1. Is this for a particular group? I volunteer with Soldiers Angels', and it's absolutely amazing, and the gratitude from these soldiers and their families...WOW. Way to go!!! :) I know they'll be grateful.

  2. I just saw Oprah yesterday talking about how we can do more for our soldiers overseas and their families here. Do you work with an organization?

  3. Hey gals - thanks for the comments! There's a sweet lady in our church congregation whose husband was just deployed again, so we've adopted his group. We are just doing this as a church, so we're not officially affiliated with any one organization dedicated to this, but we are doing it as a church service project. It's been such a rewarding experience that many of us are considering joining up with those official organizations for different projects. Hope that info helps!
